On September 10, 2021, Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (Abbr. SINOSOAR) successfully received the letter of acceptance of the Piolet project of The Marshall’s Ebeye Island Solar Sidewalk, which is the first project of SINOSOAR uses micro photovoltaic inverters, marking the further expansion of SINOSOAR in the Central Pacific market.
Ebeye Island is also known as the “Slum on the Pacific” for its lack of living resources and energy.As the local power utility’s generators repeatedly shut down several times in recent years, the island experienced extended power outages and power instability. In addition, the island will face rising sea levels and the gradual loss of land due to global warming.
To stabilize Ebeye’s power situation as the island, the local power company has been buying new generation equipment to improve the electricity situation. World Bank funding is supporting the procurement of new generators as KAJUR’s engine cannot satisfy future electric needs.
The Ebeye Solar Sidewalk Pilot project is a renewable microgrid project initiated by Kwajalein Integrated Energy Company and undertaken by SINOSOAR, funded by the World Bank under the extremely unstable local power sources.
The project uses the Building Integrated with Photovoltaic (BIPV) design for renewable energy and uses micro photovoltaic inverters in conjunction with the AC grid to maximize the output capacity of solar system, stabilize local power supplies and reduce the island’s dependence on diesel fuel-generated power.
