Suriname Power System Upgrade
and Expansion Project
The Completion Ceremony


On June 26, the completion ceremony of the Suriname Power System Upgrade and Expansion Project undertaken by Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.) was successfully held in Nickerie District, Suriname. The project is a 2.3 MW PV-BESS Hybrid project, the core technology and main products of the project are independently developed and implemented by Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. On the day of the completion ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador to Suriname, Mr. Han Jing, the President of Suriname, Mr. Chan Santokhi and the Vice President of Suriname, Mr. Ronnie Brunswijk were invited and they delivered speeches on the ceremony.







In Mr. Han Jing’s speech, he mentioned that the accomplishment of Suriname Power System Upgrade and Expansion Project is significantly important for both China and Suriname, and it is the result of joint efforts and promotion made by many parties. The completion of the project will provide reliable and stable sustainable energy for more than 30,000 residents in the surrounding areas, which will effectively improve the basic living standards of residents, and ensure the sustainable development of industry and commerce, and it enables technology and products made in China making contributions to the local economic development and making improvement of people’s livelihood in Suriname. Mr. Han Jing emphasized that the consensus on development strategy between China and Suriname has brought more practical cooperation opportunities between two countries.




2022
The President of Suriname, Mr. Chan Santokhi expressed his warm congratulations on the completion of the Suriname Power System Upgrade and Expansion Project on behalf of the Surinamese government in his speech, and he also highly appreciated Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. for their technology research and development and construction strength. He said that climate change is a common challenge faced by all countries in the world, and Suriname is one of the three countries with negative carbon emissions in the world. At present, to achieve the goal of 80% sustainable energy by the year of 206, Suriname is transforming into a sustainable economy through a number of reform measures, and the construction of sustainable energy photovoltaic power plants is an important step to help Suriname moving towards for sustainable development. Soon, Suriname will have more opportunities to cooperate with China in sustainable energy and other fields.

As early as the year of 2019, the relationship between China and Suriname had been upgraded to strategic cooperation partnership. Both countries agreed to enhance win-win cooperation in multiple fields and signed a cooperation Memo to promote the construction of the “One Belt and One Road” policy. With the deepening cooperation between China and Suriname, the number of projects undertaken or aided by Chinese companies in Suriname has increased year by year. This Suriname Power System Upgrade and Expansion Project has further promoted the development goal of friendly development and joint promotion between China and Suriname and it represents the determination to promote the “One Belt and One Road” construction cooperation by China and Suriname.




In the year of 2021, President Xi Jinping proposed the “Global Development Initiative”, which is to provide stronger and more targeted support to developing countries. Climate change and renewable energy development are the key contents of this initiative. The completion of the Suriname Power System Upgrade and Expansion Project has transformed the cooperation consensus between China and Suriname into practical measures, which can further implement United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and contribute Chinese wisdom to the cause of reducing poverty and improving people’s livelihood around the world.

SINOSOAR has obtained the Certificate of National High-tech Enterprise and the Certificate of “Zhongguancun” High-tech Enterprise. SINOSOAR has declared a total of 103 patents, including 17 national invention patents, 86 utility model invention patents, 28 certificates for computer software copy right, and 3 appearance design patents. In addition, SINOSOAR has been issued with the ISO Certificates and HSE Certificate.

As of now, SINOSOAR has completed more than 30 solar hybrid projects in Asia and Africa. The projects are benefiting more than 30 million people. SINOSOAR’s business map covers more than 20 countries and regions in Asia, Oceania, Latin America and Africa. In addition, SINOSOAR has successfully supplied and installed more than 400,000 sets of off-grid solar power system. These independent solar power systems are providing renewable energy to more than 3 million people to meet their basic needs of electricity.
