PV – Diesel – Storage micro grid project
On December 18, 2022, Sino Soar Hybrid (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. (Abbr. SINOSOAR) won the bid for the general contract project of PV – Diesel – Storage micro grid in 26 islands of Maldives Raa&Baa atoll.
26 islands of Maldives Raa&Baa atoll
This project is the third microgrid project awarded by SINOSOAR in the Maldives region, and by this new project, the total number of project islands of SINOSOAR in the Maldives has reached 64.
The 26 island atoll microgrid project that SINOSOAR won the bid this time and its previous projects were all part of POISED, the project of outer Island sustainable energy development by Maldives government. The amount of PV system installed per unit of the project varies from 175kWp to 500 kWp. After the completion of all 26 islands, the total PV system installed amount will be 8MWp and the energy storage system installed amount will reach 12MWh.
SINOSOAR will be responsible for the design and construction of the PV-Diesel-Storage microgrid system on 26 islands, the upgrading of existing power stations, and the conversion of the original single diesel power system into the PV-Diesel-Storage microgrid system. This project adopts EMS energy management system independently developed by SINOSOAR and SP series energy storage products, which organically combines PV system, diesel power generation system and energy storage system, not only realizes multi-generating resource hybridazing, efficient and green operation, but also guarantees the safety and stability of the island power system.
