The project is located in the Agadez province of Niger, West Africa. The project includes 5 rural towns in Agadez province. Specifically, it will provide the Solar-Diesel-Battery Storage hybrid power system in these isolated places. The size capacity of the five power plans are as follows.

The total installed capacity of the five power stations is:

Photovoltaic: 2876 kW

Energy storage: 4345 kWh

Charging inverter: 1540 kW

Diesel generator: 1480 kW

LV Distribution line:80km

MV Distribution line:11.35km

The construction of hybrid power stations includes the design, equipment supply and installation, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the Solar-Diesel-Battery Storage hybrid power system and EMS systems mentioned above. In addition, it also includes the modification of the existing diesel generator system, the update and expansion of medium and low voltage lines, etc. By application of EMS system, it enables the whole day-night power supply with the automatically control.

After the project is completed, we give the technical training to local operators and maintenance personnel so that the off-taker can ensure the smooth operation system of the power station.

Project significance

  • Reduce the dependence of Niger on diesel power generation, so as to increase energy security and improve the vulnerability of energy system to external shocks;

  • Increase the proportion of renewable energy capacity in the total output, increase the proportion of clean energy, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated by local diesel energy;

  • Reduce the cost of power generation, improve people's livelihood and bring opportunities for the development of micro enterprises;
