In-Depth Exploration of Smart Microgrid Solutions for Island Nations

On August 25, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Maldives Ministry of Environment’s Project Management Office (PMU), engineering supervision team, and the National Electricity Authority arrived in Beijing to commence a week-long technical evaluation and visit.

The itinerary focused on the 40MWh microgrid energy storage demonstration project undertaken by SINOSOAR in the Maldives. Through field inspections and technical discussions, the delegation aimed to ensure smooth project implementation while exploring opportunities for future strategic collaboration.

Customized Solutions Presentation and Global Case Sharing

During their visit to SINOSOAR’s Beijing headquarters, the delegation was warmly received by the company’s management.

At the subsequent technical exchange session, SINOSOAR’s Chairman and Country General Manager provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s technological strengths and global project experience in the microgrid sector. They highlighted customized solutions tailored for island nations, covering core technologies such as hybrid energy complementary control, off-grid microgrid system development, and high-weather-resistant equipment.

The delegation showed keen interest in these solutions, leading to in-depth discussions on project implementation details and environmental adaptability.

Product and Technical Capabilities Earn Delegation’s Recognition

The delegation later visited SINOSOAR’s smart microgrid experimental base, where they observed simulated operations of the microgrid system and a demonstration of the Energy Management System (EMS).

Additionally, at the production facility of SINOSOAR’s strategic partner, the delegation inspected the full production process of core project equipment, evaluating indicators such as craftsmanship standards and quality control systems.

During the technical assessment, on-site staff provided detailed explanations regarding equipment protection levels and adaptability to the unique environmental conditions of island nations. The delegation highly commended SINOSOAR’s standardized production management and efficient technical responsiveness.

Deepening Collaboration to Advance Energy Structure Optimization in Island Nations

Following the visit, the delegation spoke highly of SINOSOAR. An official from the Maldives Ministry of Environment remarked, “SINOSOAR’s island-customized technical solutions perfectly align with the needs of nations like the Maldives, accelerating progress toward the country’s 2030 renewable energy development goals and serving as a key demonstration project for energy transition.”

A senior representative from the Maldives National Electricity Authority added, “The successful completion of this technical evaluation fully validates SINOSOAR’s professional capabilities and service quality. We look forward to further collaboration to jointly advance innovation and application of microgrid technologies for island nations.”
